  1. What if I’ve never journaled before?
    1. All of the journaling activities will include prompts. You can follow them precisely or use them as a guide.
  2. Will I be asked to share what I wrote?
    1. We will create a safe space for anyone who wants to share but this is never an obligation.
  3. Is this a full pilates workout?
    1. Nope! The movement includes guided gentle stretches with options to meet everyone where they are.
  4. Will we get breaks?
    1. You bet! There will be snacks & drinks provided that you can enjoy any time. Plus a dedicated break time.
  5. Why movement & writing?
    1. Being "embodied" means feeling at home in your body, safely connected to it, and present to its sensations, both emotional and physical. This state allows for the healthy expression of needs, desires, fears, and wants through the body, enhances the ability to self-soothe when agitated, and helps identify and appropriately tend to inner needs. It fosters a deep connection and acceptance of all parts of your body and self, including your sense of self and soul, and enables you to recognize and correct cognitive distortions related to your body. Engaging in activities like journaling and movement supports this embodiment by promoting mental clarity, emotional release, and a balanced sense of well-being.

About Kristen, Movement Specialist & TRX Pilates Founder

Kristen is a former wound care nurse and personal trainer. After having a baby in 2020, Kristen embarked on a new health and weight loss journey, She found a new world of results and success through a combination of TRX suspension training and Pilates. Kristen decided to transition away from the realm of weightlifting and competitive fitness, focusing instead on teaching others how to achieve optimal form and function to live in a pain-free body.
